Commenced Kieser Training Golf Programme

As I mentioned previously here, I was lucky enough to win a 12 week golf programme at Kieser Training.  I was already attending and today was a physio check on the various machines, adding some extra exercises that are standard in the golf programme.

Kieser Training, Mont Albert
We added one for the abdomen, which takes a little getting used to how to climb on board.   Also, a group of four exercises for strengthening wrist/forearms.

After first starting Kieser earlier in the year some of the weights are slowing in the rate of increase.

My previous programme did not include the large Lumbar Extension machine, which is for my next session.

Kieser Training Charity Golf Day at Spring Valley Golf Club (55)

I started attending Kieser Training earlier this year after reading of their golf program in a golfing magazine.  When I heard of the golf day, which was in support of The Children’s Protection Society, I fired off an entry form and keenly awaited my first trip to Spring Valley Golf Club.

The day was a 4 man ambrose event and after arriving at the course, off to register, and was pleased to find that our group included touring pro James McLean.  A fantastic experience to play with a professional golfer who was good fun, hit some booming drives and managed to drag us to a second place on the day with a gross 67.

Luckily I also managed to score a win in the raffle afterwards which was a prize of the 12 week golf program at Kieser.

Spring Valley was in great condition, fast greens and made more challenging on the day with a howling gale that more often than not seemed to be in to our faces on the tee.

Long driver Stephen Kennedy was also on hand for the tee shot on the par 5 12th hole.  That was the first time I have ever hit a wedge second shot to a par 5!

Huntingdale Golf Club (38)

A friend's kind invitation to a game at Huntingdale Golf Club was quickly accepted.

Home of the Australian Masters for many years I had watched television broadcasts and seen a who's who of Australian and International golfers tackle the famous layout.

Not playing often enough, my swing is in need of repair, so today I kept the driver in the bag and concentrated on keeping the ball on the short stuff.  Unfortunately Huntingdale has one or two strategically placed bunkers that do mean a cost shot.

Today the 4th a dog leg par 4 was out of play and we used the extra par 3 hole, which although only short still demands you hit the green.

Saved the best till last, needing a win on the hole for my playing partner and I to take the match, on the 410m par 4 18th (index 1) a 3-iron 200m and a regulation two putt for par and the win.
